About These Gluten Free and Dairy Free Snacks
Snacks are clutch when you have celiac disease. And if you're someone who also has to avoid dairy in addition to gluten, it can make finding suitable snacks a little bit trickier.
Since I've been living with both celiac disease and IBS-D (which includes some lactose intolerance) since 2009, I'm very familiar with finding snacks that won't upset my tummy or be harmful to my body. And that's why I finally decided to compose this list of my go-to favorite gluten-free and dairy-free snacks!
These gluten free and dairy free snacks are organized by category, and can all be found on my Amazon storefront. You can also view everything on the list right here. Of course, I always recommend bringing fresh fruit and veggies as snacks, because they are easy to pack and portable. My favorites are clementines, apples, carrots, and bananas.
But if you're reading this post, chances are you're looking for the specific brands and products that offer gluten and dairy free snacks you can buy. So without further ado, let's get to the snacks! That way you're prepared for a late night craving, long road trip, emergency hanger, or just ready for any gluten-free adventure that comes your way.
Crunchy & Salty Gluten & Dairy Free Snacks
Gotta love the crunchy and salty gluten free and dairy free snacks! I'm talking crackers, chips, pretzels, popcorn, and even some jerky.
Lance Crackers
These are the closest to Ritz crackers that I've ever tasted. Perfect with a slice of cheese and salami. Previously this brand was no longer producing/manufacturing, but I've seen it come back since 2023. Here's to hoping Lance crackers are here to stay (because they are tasty).
The Good Crisp Chips
And speaking of products that remind me of their gluten-filled counterparts - The Good Crisp chips taste just like Pringles! Except they are certified gluten-free. Truly crispy, light, and with flavors like Salt and Vinegar, you can't beat it. I can eat an entire container of them! Please note: some of their flavors contain dairy. Their original Good Crisp flavors do not.
Hippeas Chickpea Puffs
A puff that tastes like a cheese doodle, but actually doesn't have any cheese? Sign me up. These are crunchy, not too salty, and give me that feeling of snacking on cheese doodles but are actually chickpea based and vegan too!
Lesser Evil Popcorn
I'll be honest, I'm not a huge popcorn person. If I'm at the movies, heck yes! But for a snack, I'll usually pass. But I find Lesser Evil Popcorn to be super tasty, especially the one with Pink Himalayan Sea Salt.
Snyder's Gluten-Free Pretzels
The GOAT! My all-time favorite gluten-free pretzels. They come in pretzel rods, pretzel sticks, rounds, and even pretzel pieces. Personally, I love all of them but haven't tried the pretzel pieces. The plain ones are perfect and so crunchy you can eat a whole bag. The honey mustard has fantastic flavor too.
Blue Diamond Almond Nut Thins
A light, crispy cracker made from almonds. Another great option for pairing with crackers, cheese, or for a DIY charcuterie snack board. I buy these often and love that they come in multiple flavors.
Quinn Pretzel Bites
Another pretzel brand I enjoy, but not as much as the Snyder's pretzel sticks. What's great about this brand is they offer the pretzel nuggets in different flavors too.
Chomps Meat Sticks
Jerky sticks are super filling and packed with protein. Chomps are great as a gluten-free snack to keep you full. I'd make it part of a gluten-free charcuterie board with other crackers and pretzels listed here.
Bars & Fruit Snacks
These gluten free and dairy free fruit-based bars and other bars can be great sources of protein when you feel hungry or need a quick snack on the go.
Larabars
These are still some of my favorite fruit bars. Mostly fruit and nuts, they have a variety of flavors, only a few ingredients, and taste great with minimal sugar. I like the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip flavor the best (also vegan!)
That's It Fruit Bars
These bars live up to their name - they are just fruit, that's it! Kind of like a thicker fruit roll up, in my opinion, that are yummy, sweet, and an easy snack to pack.
Yes Bars
I was gifted a box of these bars from the brand, and wound up liking them a lot. I'm a sucker for anything with Peanut Butter and Chocolate, and these were really tasty. They reminded me of the Quaker granola bars I used to eat in my pre-celiac days.
Enjoy Life Protein Bites
Enjoy is a beloved brand for being allergy-friendly, and their chocolate chips are my preferred option when baking gluten and dairy-free. Their chocolate protein bites are a great, lightly sweet option for snacking, and unique - I rarely see other products like them.
Bobo's Oat Bars
I was introduced to these bars from a client inside the Confident Celiac Community. I love their flavors and that they are often fruit based! They taste more like a dessert to me than a regular bar.
Skout Organic Bars
These were gifted to me by the brand, and I couldn't believe how many different kinds of these bars exist! Both Dylan and I tried them, and thought they were pretty tasty. Small, portable, and easy to pack with you in your purse or bag.
Annie's Bunny Fruit Snacks
I love Annie's! Their macaroni and cheese is one of my all time favorites, but these fruit snacks are also super tasty. They are gummies, which remind me of being a kid, but the fruit flavors are strong and sweet. They come in little packets that are perfect for kids snack time (or adults!)
GoGo Squeeze
These are awesome! Like drinking apple sauce mixed with other fruit, all in a convenient little squeeze tube. Again, often for little kids, but I think they are perfect for adults too, especially when traveling.
Mamma Chia
Another similar product to the GoGo Squeeze - but these are focused on chia seeds. Lots of chia seeds mixed with fruit in these pouches. Not as sweet as the GoGo Squeeze, but still very good, and with the chia mixed in.
YumEarth Gummy Bears
If you loved snacking on gummy bears in your pre-celiac days, these ones are just like what I remember. Great fruity flavors, perfect texture, and without any gluten or dairy.
Cookies & Sweet Snacks
Ahh yes, sweets! If you have a sweet tooth or love having a sweet snack, these gluten free dairy free products are for you!
Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal Packs
These are so convenient for breakfast or if you're on the go. They have two sweet flavors: Brown Sugar & Maple, or Apple Cinnamon. Both are delicious and certified gluten-free. All you add is water.
Home Free Cookies
These come in tiny snack packets, and are tasty cookies! I like the classic chocolate chip the best, but they come in a variety of cookie flavors.
Choco No No's
NoWhey is a fantastic brand offering allergy-free chocolate treats we often covet and miss, especially during the holidays. Their chocolate No No's are like the equivalent of M&Ms, without the dairy or the gluten.
Partake Foods Cookies
Partake Foods cookies are well known for being Top 9 Allergen free and certified gluten-free! They come in multiple flavors, including chocolate chip, birthday cake, lemon, and even s'mores style graham crackers.
Sweet Amsterdam Stroopwafel
These are so neat! A fellow celiac friend told me about them. Imagine a wafer-based sugar cookie that reminds you of a waffle. Perfect with some ice cream for dessert, even!
Yum Earth Lollipops
Ooh, these are fantastic. Love the fruity flavors, they are organic, certified gluten-free, and vegan. A fabulous lollipop, and I can never decide which one is my favorite flavor!
Final Thoughts On These Snacks
Snacks are clutch for any outing, especially if you have celiac disease. While I always say meals are more important for longer travel days, so you don't go hungry, I definitely think snacks are a great option for a quick bite or to hold you over on your daily activities. And the gluten free dairy free products listed here are the ones you can usually find in my pantry, or in my bag/purse for any type of outing!
Remember, all of the snacks in this list can be found on my Amazon storefront here.
