About This Salad Recipe
This simple salad packs the sweetness of strawberries, healthy fat of avocados, and seasonings of olive oil and lemon juice. It's delicious, nutritious, and has flavors and ingredients that compliment each other well!
If you aren't a fan of having fruit in your salad, I completely understand. My husband doesn't care for fruit in salad either. But to my taste buds, I love the compliment of something salty and sweet. This salad gives me that taste pairing, which is why I love it so much.
Ingredients You Will Need For Strawberry Avocado Salad
-Greens or lettuce of your choice
-Strawberries
-Ripe avocado
-Olive oil (I prefer extra virgin olive oil)
-Lemon juice
-Salt & pepper
Variations & Other Ingredients For This Salad
If you'd like to add any additional ingredients, feel free! I sometimes add shredded carrots, sunflower seeds or pepitas, or red cabbage. You can make this salad as filling or as light as you prefer. I had it today with leftover grilled steak from dinner the night before for extra protein.
Salad Dressing
When it comes to salad dressing, I'm a firm believer that less is more. Blame it on my time in Spain, but all I need is a little oil and lemon! This gluten-free strawberry avocado salad only uses extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for dressing. It's healthy, easy, without any added weird ingredients like some bottled dressings, and packs a fresh, light flavor. If you like vinegar, feel free to add a drizzle of red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar too! (I'm not a big vinegar person, so I stay away).
