Wondering what's gluten-free at BJ's Wholesale?
In this post, I'm breaking down 20+ gluten-free items you can find at this membership warehouse chain across the USA.

Gluten-Free BJ's Wholesale Club

About This BJ's Blog Post
Have you ever shopped at a bulk grocery store?
BJ's Wholesale Club, like Costco and Sam's Club, is a grocery store where you buy a larger quantity of items in bulk, usually at a lower price.
Stores like this come in handy if you go through a lot of a particular thing, like diapers or peanut butter.
However, you can only shop there if you are a member (and if you have the space in your home!)
Buying in bulk can save you money in the long run, however, and lower your grocery bill significantly. And when you have celiac disease, as I do, saving money when food shopping is always a good idea.
According to this study, the cost of gluten-free groceries was 242% more expensive than their regular counterparts!
That's a whole lot of cash!
Shortly before giving birth to our daughter in February of 2024, my husband and I decided to do some bulk grocery shopping and signed up for a BJ's membership.
We chose BJ's for convenience because it's close by, and we didn't want to go out of our way to do this kind of shopping.
After visiting BJ's about 1-2x times a month over the last year, I now have a good idea of the items readily available at most BJ's that are gluten-free. And since we continue to shop here regularly, I wanted to shed some light as to what brands (and what items!) are gluten-free at BJ's, in case you want to consider a BJ's membership too.
Personally, the gluten-free rotisserie chickens have sealed the deal for me, but that's just one perk. I'll get to more of them below!
About BJ's Wholesale Club

BJ's has over 250 locations in over 21 states in the US, predominantly those on the eastern side of the country.
It started with a discount department store here in Massachusetts called Zayre in 1984, which eventually became TJX Companies and the BJ's we know today.
BJ's Wholesale is one of the most common buy-in-bulk membership stores in the country - the others being Costco and Sam's Club.
In addition to grocery items like produce, meat, and packaged goods, BJ's also has toiletries, toys, electronics, garden supplies, books, clothing, furniture, and services such as tires & gas for your car.
We bought our daughter Harper a water table and a bubble machine at BJ's, two items she absolutely loves!
BJ's Membership Cost & Perks

BJ's memberships are usually $55/year unless noted otherwise.
They often offer perks for new members to get their first year at a discount. Additionally, you can get curbside pickup and same-day delivery as a member.
BJ's has a website and an app where you can search for items available at your local store, clip coupons, and order items for delivery and pickup.
BJ's applies its clipless coupons automatically to your membership, so when you scan your card at checkout, they are applied. However, you still have to go through and select the coupons you want.
BJ's also accepts manufacturers' coupons, whereas Costco does not!
This can be especially helpful when shopping with celiac disease so you can lower your grocery bill (Because, as you know, the gluten-free tax is PRICEY!)
Not to mention, there's a 5-cent discount on gas if you fill up at a BJ's gas station. You can get a higher discount if you sign up for a BJ's credit card.
25+ BJ's Gluten-Free Products
Now, keep in mind that the gluten-free BJ's Wholesale products available in my local store may be different from what you have in your BJ's. However, based on their weekly flyer, I do think there are similarities from store to store.
Keep in mind - the products rotate and can change during the year. I use the BJ's app to see current prices and what is in stock at my local store.

BJ's stores are quite large. The products are organized similarly to what you see above on pallets on very tall shelves. This aisle was specifically for tea and coffee. Most aisles are clearly labeled, and things are easy to find.
And as a reminder, I'm not going into detail about fresh produce such as fruits, meats, vegetables, which are naturally gluten-free.
Gluten-Free Snacks at BJ's
Bobo's Oat Bites

Certified GF oat bites that are also vegan. They come in a variety of flavors and are both soft and full of flavor. I don't typically buy these, but I've always been pleased with my purchase when I do.
Crunchmaster Crackers

These are my go-to crackers for a charcuterie board. Multigrain or the Rosemary flavor are my favorites, and I use them often in this gluten-free charcuterie recipe.
Partake Foods Cookies

Gotta love Partake Foods! Top 9 allergen-free and certified GF. They make two varieties of cookies - one chewy, one crispy. I used these as snacks for my Confident Celiac Community members during our Denver Retreat in 2024. Always a hit!
Mary's Gone Crackers

Gluten-free, vegan, and whole-grain crackers. These tend to be a bit on the seedy side, so not my top choice, but still good nonetheless. Be careful if you have sensitive teeth - they can be a sharp bite.
Bare Snacks

If you're a fan of dried fruit, these are for you! They come in a bunch of different fruit flavors and are exactly what you think - dried fruit chips. Sweet and tasty.
KIND Bars

KIND Bars are my usual go-to for granola bars, especially when traveling. I just try not to open or eat them on airplanes to accommodate anyone with nut allergies. I love the dark chocolate, nuts & sea salt flavor. These bars are nut-based and labeled gluten-free.
Siete Foods Tortilla Chips

I've never met a Siete Foods product I didn't like! Years ago when I was battling Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (again) and really bad IBS, corn didn't sit well with me. As a big fan of chips, guac, and all things Tex-Mex, I was disappointed I couldn't eat my favorite snack until I found Siete. Their grain-free tortilla chips are a win. The sea salt ones are good, but I like the hint of lime flavor the best.
Late July Tortilla Chips

Now that corn is back in my regular gluten-free diet rotation, Late July has become our go-to tortilla chip. Thin, crispy, with a hint of sea salt. Perfect for dipping into salsa or guacamole (psst - try this super easy guac recipe, it takes less than 5 minutes usually for me to make!)
Gluten-Free Pasta & Pantry Items at BJ's
Banza Pasta

Banza gets a bad reputation for its texture. But it is a great high-protein gluten-free pasta option made from chickpeas. I used to eat it a lot more, but today, prefer a blend of corn and rice. I compare a bunch of gluten-free pastas on the market today in this blog post here, including which are my favorites.
Barilla Pasta

This Barilla 4-pack pasta option is a really good value - you get 2 boxes of Penne and 2 boxes of Spaghetti all in one. When I've seen these individual boxes go for as much as $4 each, it's worth buying in my book. I use their pastas frequently for spaghetti carbonara and burst cherry tomato pasta.
Rao's Tomato Sauce (2-Pack)

Rao's - the goat of tomato sauce. Their tomato basil or marinara is fantastic, and getting this 2-pack is such a great deal! It's the best price I've found for Rao's sauce - way cheaper than all the usual grocery stores near me (and you get 2!)
Gluten-Free Baking Items At BJ's
King Arthur Measure For Measure Flour

There are a lot of gluten-free flour blends out there (I talk about them in this post with 5 tips for gluten-free baking) , but a popular choice is this King Arthur Measure for Measure. This isn't my go-to baking flour, but it works well for quickbreads, muffins, and cookies. Simple bakes are your friend here when modifying to gluten-free. This deal is a great value.
4C Breadcrumbs

Besides Aleia's, which can sometimes be hard to find, 4C is my backup for gluten-free breadcrumbs. I've used them in this baked macaroni and cheese recipe, when cooking gluten-free breaded chicken cutlets, or even in meatballs, like these baked meatballs.
Gluten-Free Frozen Items at BJ's
Feel Good Foods Mozzarella Sticks

THESE ARE AMAZING. Mozzarella sticks were my all-time favorite appetizer when dining out before my celiac diagnosis in 2009. It's one of those foods that are always delicious but REALLY hard to find a celiac-safe version of on a restaurant menu.
That's why I love these ones from Feel Good Foods - they cook quickly in an Air Fryer or Oven (I often use my toaster oven), and I love to dip them in some Rao's sauce, also a gluten-free product at BJ's! The cheese pull on them is next-level, and they are absolute perfection. Certified gluten-free, too!
Freschetta Pizzas

Probably the best gluten-free frozen pizzas I've found to date. I WISH they had the pepperoni version - it's honestly even better than this one. But this one is fantastic nonetheless. Freschetta has a different celiac-safe certification, and the sauce, cheese, and crust crisp up perfectly. We always buy 2 pizzas anyway, so this 2-pack is a home run.
Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders

We were buying these more often during my postpartum days after giving birth to our daughter Harper in 2024. Certified gluten-free, quick to cook, and versatile - we made them with salad, as a main course with rice and a vegetable, or even just as a high-protein snack.
Veggies Made Great Egg Cups

These also came in handy during postpartum when I was SUPER hungry from breastfeeding every 2-3 hours. These mini egg white frittatas could be heated in the microwave and are much easier than making egg cups yourself. (But hey, if you want to - check out this recipe for them!)
Dino Buddies Chicken Nuggets

Ring ring - the 90's called! It's chicken nuggets in the shape of dinosaurs, and yes, you can eat them. They are certified gluten-free and go excellent with some gluten-free boxed macaroni and cheese. Unsure which ones are worth buying? Check out this list of my top recommendations.
Cooked Perfect Homestyle Meatballs

While I love homemade meatballs like this recipe, with a toddler now I don't really have the time to make them. These frozen meatballs are actually quite delicious and are now one of my staples to keep in our freezer. Heat them up on the stove, in the microwave, put some Rao's sauce on them - they are very good!
Brazi Bites

If you haven't had Brazi Bites, they are a version of Brazilian pao de queijo - cheese bread. Little mini soft puffs of dough made with tapioca flour and cheese that melt in your mouth. They are addictive! You can bake in the oven or the air fryer. I like that these ones are a bigger bag because it's easy to eat tons of them in one sitting!
Gluten-Free Meats & Cheeses at BJ's
Perdue Rotisserie Chickens

Ahh, a gluten-free rotisserie chicken. So versatile! I love using these in weekly meal rotations. Perfect for a quick chicken noodle soup (just cut up your light and dark meat), or making chicken salad (Try my go-to GF recipe here), or having as a main course with some roasted vegetables. Most rotisserie chickens in grocery stores don't carry a GF label - so I really appreciate that this one does.
Violife Cream Cheese & Cheeses

Since our daughter Harper was diagnosed with egg and dairy allergies at 8 months old, we've been eating a lot more dairy-free products in our home in addition to gluten-free products.
And Violife has become our go-to brand for cream cheese, shredded cheeses, and the like. They taste very similar to the real thing (the shredded cheeses even melt like real cheese - how they do it, I have no clue!) but buying all of these specialty items can be pricey. So I appreciate BJ's having a larger quantity of some Violife items that I can buy and stock up on.
Cabot Cheese Snack Size

Cabot cheese, hip hip hooray! My father-in-law worked at the Cabot Creamery in the 70's, and it's such a staple Vermont business that is beloved by many in New England and around the USA. So finding this pack of snack-sized Cabot cheddar cheeses is a win for me.
Kevin's Natural Foods

While I'm not usually someone that buys Kevin's Natural Foods products, they are a definite cooking hack that make meal time a whole lot easier. Certified gluten-free, fully cooked meals that you prepare using the sous vide method.
Phew, that was a lot of gluten-free products! Hopefully you can find these at your BJ's too!
Final Thoughts: Gluten-Free BJ's Wholesale
I asked my email newsletter community and Instagram community where they shop in bulk with celiac disease. And the biggest answer I received?
Costco!
I guess that will be next on my list to check out with celiac disease.
